Dategal, a dating blog on Orble, was active until November 2006... it had promise, with interesting articles and regular readers. Now, it's in the Blog Cemetery.
Lately, though, it's drawn some attention.
DateGal posted about a dating site called BeautifulPeople.net, a site that purports to only have attractive people... you upload a picture, the other members vote on your Shazam! and you wait to be accepted.
I don't think it's such a bad idea, but that's just because I'm really, really, really, ridiculously good-looking.
Anyway, the post must've gotten the attention at someone at BeautifulPeople.net, because today, I received email notification about 3-4 anonymous comments on DateGal. I busted out the double shotgun and my flak vest, ready to pop a cap in a spammer's ass.
I was surprised to find long, defensive comments from members at 'BP'.
Oh, and one more remark: Apparently none of those people posting comments in this blog have gotten access to BP.net. All of you judging the BP-members as "shallow" and "superficial" are acting just like that: To me it seems exceptionally shallow and superficial and unfair to judge those fine people of BP.net without having accessed the community. - anonymous
It's interesting to see old posts at Orble still drawing in the public!
Update: Damo from My Apologetics did some searching around the Beautiful People site, looking at the different country pages. It's not surprising, but he found that several of the female photos were repeated on several different country pages.
Either people are using stock images to gain entry, or the company is seeding their own member list with pictures of pretty girls.

the presumption that every person on that site is vain and self righteous is unfounded and untrue. haven't you ever had doubts about your physical attractiveness? haven't you ever asked in some way for validation of your worth on a superficial level? i, personally, believe that we all have in some form or another.

I have been checking out all the sites to see if the girls are as beautiful as they claim and guess what?
Come on Guess?
Give up?
They have repeated some of the girls pictures.
One girl (elle) is on the Spanish site and also on the Baltic site.
What gives?
The singapore site has a lack of singapore looking people. It also has a lot of broken links.
Over al most shots look like stock photos that commerial advertizing companies use all the time.
