Block Party - 20/20 Filmsight

Today, Cibby (me) posted a review of Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a seething, inside look at a concert documentary gone funny.
Cibby's post encompasses this generation's fears and doubts into one inocuous movie review... sure, he's talking about a hip hop movie, but at the core of it, he's exploring our deepest fantasies. Reading his review is like staring at the Ark of the Covenant.
From the tail-end of his post:
"Dave Chappelle's Block Party is an exhilirating ride, to say the least, and, in my humble opinion, it's one of the best films to come out this year.
It's about time someone threw a block party, and Dave Chappelle is just the cat to do it. Watching this film was, for me, like having sex for the first time, after abstaining for a year... like discovering that part of you that has been disused and abused, and you've just re-opened your eyes to a dazzling array of lights and explosions.
This is an orgasm, etched in film."
In an indescribable way, from Cibby's writing, you're overwhelmed by his incredibly rugged good looks and sculpted musculature. His words paint a visual picture of him riding a horse through a forested valley, saving damsels in distress from terrorists and aliens, while at the same time, helping a lost child find his/her family.
He's modest, too. So, modest, in fact, that women invariably throw themselves at him in an attempt to seduce him. Those that have succeeded have trouble recounting the events of that fateful night of passion without breaking down.
A testimony:
"In his strong arms, I felt both safe and free, and as his tongue traced Celtic runes over my calves, I thought I might scream... luckily, he didn't hold back and we rode violent waves of sexual energy, over and over again.
The next morning, my breasts were firmer and my wrinkles, gone. It was a mysterious, magical experience, as if he had made love to an entire generation of women in that one unbelievable night..."

From the post:
"Mr. Chappelle, in addition to being a raving lunatic, is also a diabolical genius. Yes, if he had a nuclear missile, or a vial of deadly virus, the world would have to fork over a lot of cold cash. With a block party in his hands, though, all he can do is make some noise."
Disclaimer: Some of this article may be stretching the truth in some dimensions. It is widely acknowledged that Cibby cannot ride a horse at all..
