Today's Post of the Day indulges that little weakness we all have. We're all greedy little children when it comes to chocolate brownies, and Laura has posted a great recipe, too!
Recipes mean nothing without tantalizing pictures, and Laura's taken that into consideration. At the top of her post, a single chocolate brownie placed on gold leaf.
Since gold is trading at nearly $700 an ounce, you know that must be a royal brownie...
From the post:
"On the outside it looks so plain Jane. But on the inside, this brownie is soft and chewy like good fudge, and the chocolate just melts on your tongue. mmmmmmmmm..."
If you're a man, you're reading this thinking 'Why the HELL do I need to know how to bake? I fix cars and watch footy while drinking beer. That's what I DO!'
Tsk, tsk... this is a changing world, my friend. These cruel times necessitate men baking sinfully delicious desserts to get dates with cute girls.
Case in point: I had a collegue once that had an explosively good brownie recipe... he'd bring a tray of them into the office, and the girls would literally run to his cubicle to get a piece.
While eating, they'd make noises that shoiuld recieve an MA18 rating, if it were on television. Some of them would swear like a pirate in surprise and pleasure.
I asked him where he got the recipe from. 'From the Internet,' he said.
From the Internet? I looked at his recipe, and it didn't look anything special. Why, then, were all these women (young, attractive, nubile women) flocking around him and his brownies?
'I just added more butter than the recipe asked for!' he revealed.
Ah, that's it. Butter.
Laura gives a last-minute warning:
"On a sidenote, I just noticed today that the old McDonalds' latest creation is a ‘triple chocolate brownie’. Do not be fooled! Home-made brownies are INFINITELY better and do not contain pig fat!"
