Commentary Faux Pas on PopCulturist
February 5th 2008 09:48
Mr. Nice Guy is a self-labelled 'nice guy'. We don't know anything about him, we have no definitive evidence that he's nice, except that he's always quite pleasant and generally very nice.
Aha - but we don't know if he's a real Mr., do we?
In spite of this flimsy facade, MNG posted a gleeful article on hilarious faux pas spoken on television.
A little sample:
Is it just me, but if number 5 had happened the dirty way, do you think golf would be a more popular sport?
While 'rooting' around PopCulturist, you might find MNG's post on 'You Know You're Australian When...'
It's funny and a wink-wink to all the other Aussies on Orble who nudge each other knowingly and say things like 'Fair Dinkum'.
Unfortunately, I'm not an Aussie, so I'm left out of the fun. I can elbow my way in and chime in with laughter, but I'm not fooling myself.

A little sample:
"5. US PGA Commentator - "One of the reasons Arnie (Arnold Palmer) is playing so well is that, before each tee shot, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them . Oh my god!! What have I just said??"
6. A female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked, "So Bob, where's that eight inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too, because they were laughing so hard!"

QUOTE ME NO QUOTES!
although I have not a done a pants check on MNG, I think I can vouch for the fact that he is indeed a male!
And he is a very nice guy...some do still exist.
As for the Aussie stuff...c'mon!! Actually, I thought you were an Aussie! And when you look at what is on the web, do you really blame a few Aussies for indulging themselves?
If one made up percentages, Aussie sites would probably be 0.00001% of what's out there and a huge percentage, possibly the major percentage, would be American.
Anyhoo, does it really matter? Why don't you tell us what is amusing and wonderful about your culture, whatever that is...as now I have no idea and am confused...and yes I readily admit I confuse easily!
cheers
