Desserts by Scarlett

One blog that has consistently put out great posts is Desserts. There's always enough delicious pictures to put you in the mood for something sweet... and I assume that Scarlett knows how to make all these things. Right? RIGHT?
Whether it's cigar-looking pastries, or almond souffle, or flaming praline desserts, Scarlett has a recipe for any tastes. And it helps that most of the recipes look fairly easy to manage.
It's not a blog that'll help you lose weight, though. How can it?
One thing that I've noticed about Scarlett's recipes, though, is it isn't as bad as it could be. For example, her recipe for brownies:
"2¼ cups natural cane sugar
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups low-fat cocoa powder
1½ teaspoons baking powder
1½ teaspoons baking soda
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
1 1/3 cups unsweetened applesauce
1 cup / 8 oz low-fat silken tofu
¾ cup 1% cocoa soy milk
2 egg whites
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup raisins (optional)
canola oil cooking spray"
When I make brownies, there's nearly a whole stick of butter in there, and butter in the icing, too.
Scarlett's brownies are much better for you, but MY brownies were good enough to make very pretty girls make that 'Ooooh.... oooohh!' sound as they search frantically for a place to sit down.
