Dumpling Festival

Jessicca writes about Malaysia on her Visit Malaysia 2007 blog, which is jam-packed with useful information about this varied, multicultural country.
Today she wrote about a particularly delicious festival, the Dumpling Festival. It's a Chinese festival, historically driven by a story about an Emperor and fish and dumplings. I think Jessicca does it better:
I don't need much of a reason to eat dumplings, but I'm definitely not throwing them to the fishes. Do you have any idea how long it takes to make dumplings? The ones I made came out all deformed and opened once boiled.

"According to the legend, rice dumplings were thrown into the river to lure the fish away from [Emperor] Qu Yuan’s body while fishermen beat drums and gongs to protect the body from being eaten by the fish or demons of the murky waters. "

I'm glad that you liked the post and you liked the dumplings as well. ^_^
Basically if you are tying the normal meat dumplings you'll just need to tie it harder and if you are unsure you just tie around it a few more rounds.
Yet I'm not sure what shape you did. I usually help wrapping using the pyramid style, which you need to make sure that you aren't overstuffing your rice and stuffings. You just need to level them at the point that the leaf will close it nicely and proper, (no leakage) before you start tying them up with the bambu strings.
Here is a link on how it can be wrapped:
