Today's Post of the Day comes from Music Gecko, which is a small lizard that likes the thump of a bass speaker in the desert.
It's written by Ella, who wrote a post on a new soundtrack she bought, 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
She suggests that it's best to play it loud, to get the full slap on the face from Mr. Cent's hard-driving flow, though her neighbors may disapprove. I say crank it up even further. Play it loud or die tryin'!
I knew a French guy that didn't like hip hop, but loved that one track, 'In Da Club', and he'd play it in his little Honda Civic, real loud.
Of course, he didn't get the whole ebonic pronounciation thing down, so instead of saying 50 Cent like 'fitty cen', yo', he's say 'Do you like 'Fifty cents?'.
I'd howl in laughter - 'It's not fifty cents, man...you're not makin' change for a dollar, boy. It's Fitty Cen'!'
Ella likes this CD so much she listened to it for 60 hours. Can you appreciate how long that is? It's almost two weeks of full-time work. At minimum award wages, you could say that it's $840 worth of listening pleasure.
