History of the NBA - NBALoud
June 26th 2006 22:20
The first in a two-part series of Double-Stan posts.
What I mean, is that Stan wrote two very good posts on the history of the NBA, and he got back-2-back Posts of the Day.
He wrote one post on the History of the NBA, the major professional basketball league in America.
As he pointed out, the NBA rests squarely on the shoulders of heroic African-Americans, but originally, the league forbid coloured players into the league.
Imagine if that rule had held up till today? What kind of league would it be? What would Michael Jordan be doing with his time? Working at KFC?
Stan also describes the competition between the ABA and the NBA in the early days:
"The ABA was the funky, rebel cousin to the NBA – it had multi-coloured balls and a wild style of play in comparison to the league. Most importantly it had Dr. J who would create a basketball style revolution with his gravity defying moves and delicious dunks!
The man was a God!"
I think Stan loves Dr. J.
Stan, ifyou love Dr. J so much, why don't you marry him? Ah, my razor-sharp wit slices through Stan's post like a knife made out of butter through butter...
Stan?
Stan? Are you there?
Were you ever there?
