Seaweed Soup - Recipes
June 6th 2006 04:51
Most people would go 'Blaugh!' to see pictures of seaweed soup. It looks like a cross between a chemical spill and sinus cold mucous - which is to say, not very appetizing at all.
But it grows on you. It grew on me so much that I like to throw seaweed in my non-Japanese soups.
Is it a miracle diet? I dunno, but Laura seems convinced in her latest post on Recipes.
She's a girl on the run, so she's only got a minute or two to spend on cooking meals:
"However, the most amazing thing about this Seaweed soup is that it has a preparation time of 1 minute. You heard me! ONE minute! "
Even worse/better than seaweed soup, depending on your taste, is the soy sauce flavoured ice-cream in Japan. To each, his/her own, I guess, though I can't see that catching on here.
Imagine: on a hot, summer day, taking a big bite of an ice-cream cone, and getting that salty, soy taste in your mouth.
