Sydney Storms - Photos
August 7th 2006 05:08
Ian posted several unforgettable pictures of Sydney getting thrashed by lightning storms in 2004. There's nothing like lightning to put the fear of whatever-supernatural-force-you-believe-in in you.
Lightning isn't a big deal, especially for me. I'm average height, so by keeping company with men and women that are substantially taller than me, I'm shock-free.
They say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but that's a fallacy. From the pictures, the lightning hit Sydney more that twice. And Sydney is the same place as Sydney.
Ooh, except in Parramatta, which is really not part of Sydney. Did you hear that a new Hooters opened up there?
While, I'm not a big fan of Hooters, there's a big one in Puerto Vallerta in Mexico. It's a popular travel destination for winter-sickened Canadians, and having a Mexican Hooters is just like going to America to visit Hooters. A franchise restaurant staffed by Latinos!
Aw, that wasn't fair.
I didn't go to the Hooters in Mexico. Instead, I found this little shack of a bistro where the meal was whatever the chef caught in his morning fishing run. Fantastic!

I think they get so much attention for being a 'family restaurant'
